Puppy Bowl Crafts

by Lara-Maree MacGillivray February 3, 2019 No Comments

It’s always so exciting when the puppy bowl comes up, I invite some friends round let my dog romp around the house and we all snuggle up tight to watch the match .

Its held on the first Sunday of every February ,the same as the super bowl and this year its the 15th anniversary. and the perfect opportunity to invite my friends round to support team fluff or ruff – which ever features a boxer dog and crack out the dog biscuits in support.

My dog loves her super smelly cheese biscuits as do many of her doggy pals and I thought the puppy bowl would be the perfect opportunity to share them with you as so many people celebrate the puppy bowl.

SUPER CHEESY DOG BISCUITS

INGREDIANTS

Orange Cheese

White cheese

Milk

Butter

White Flour

Chicken stock pot

Boiling water

HOW TO MAKE

Start by dissolving one chicken stock pot in a jug filled with around 200ml of boiling water, in preparation for later.

In a bowl add the butter, flour and most of the shredded cheese and rub the mixture together between your thumb and index finger to create a crumbly texture.

Once this done add 3-4 ounces of milk to the bowl, before adding a large splash but not all of your chicken flavoured stock that we prepared earlier and kneed together until the mixture is about the same constancy as a cheese scone.

Next sprinkle flour over your kitchen worktop and begin to roll out your biscuit dough. The flour helps stop the mixture sticking to your worktop. Roll it flat until its around 1cm thick.

Using some super cute dog or bone shaped cookie cutters – if you own them – cut out your dogs biscuits.

Personally my favorite cookie shape is the dog paw which actually requires two separate cookie cutters. The larger one which I use to cut all the way down through the dough to get the biscuits and once removed I press a slightly smaller cookie cutter gently down a few millimetres to engrave the paw pads on top of the paw shaped dog treat.

Sprinkle some left over cheese on top.

And place in the oven to cook for around 15-20 mins until golden on top.

Leave to cool. These are now ready to serve to your furry friend.

That’s all for today but stay tuned over the next week for my upcoming Valentine’s day posts and craft ideas.
